Mural painting is hard! Go figure. Ok, so here we are, a month since my first day of painting and I have very little to report. I did a few small things.
First, I painted the outlet covers! I took them off when I first painted the wall (you know, like you do when you're painting walls) and later decided to paint them. Exciting. I offer you these photos to illustrate the magic of paper towels and finger painting:
First they're white, then they're orange, then they're red and orange.
Next, I sketched on the wall with blue paint! Oh yes, I did. Natalie, who is doing her own mural magic in another room, had leftover paint so I borrowed a bit. I used a friend's projector to project the original painting up on the wall. It doesn't quite fit the space, so I'm zooming in and cutting out some of the berry bushes. I'll be painting over almost all of the blue, but I think it'll be nice to have some of it showing here and there. It's just a loose sketch at this point.
My phone's camera couldn't quite figure out the white balance for this one >.>
Aaaaand that's pretty much it. A little underwhelming after the first day's progress, but it's as good a place to be as any.
It's time to figure out where to go next.
Metric week? Here's one from Chris from their earlier days:
