After reading many, many reviews it seems there are two things big things to know about the Trio. 1. The Trio is great for hobbyists that need a multipurpose tool. It does its three jobs pretty well. 2. The Trio will never be as good as a quality jigsaw, drum sander, or router.
The choice was pretty easy for me since I'm definitely a hobbyist and don't have room in my garage (or budget) for top-end, specialized tools at the moment.
Maybe one day I'll want something with a bit more umph, but for my current purposes the little thing is pretty awesome. Originally, I was looking for a tool to use while building some shelves for the little nook next to my desk. I had this elaborate plan to route the edges of the shelves and mount them to the wall without any visible brackets... let's just say that plan fell through (more on that in another post). I've since come to my senses and used brackets, but I'm still pretty happy to have the Trio for future projects.
